Day – 4 (Directions inside – For Newbies)
by ken.wincel on Feb.18, 2010, under Uncategorized
This morning I woke up same old routine. The salt-water flush is getting annoying, just because it is so hard to chug down. But the results are well worth it.
Before I get into the excitement of my day, let me record my weight;
5:30PM – I weighed in @ 217.2. Making this 10lbs in 4 days!
I’m getting a little bit of a headache right now, but I attribute that to sleeping wrong last night. Today I was even stronger focused than yesterday. I’m able to keep much more straight in my head, and I think much clearer.
I was also full of energy and felt like exercising. So I spent part of my “lunch” researching rather it was safe to workout while on the lemonade diet. I’ve talked to some people that have been on the diet, and they stated their workouts were much better than before the diets. The research I did also reinforced these statements, as it claims your body is getting the nutrition it needs.
In the evenings, and weekends I volunteer at a community Theatre as a Stage Manager. So tonight I’ll be making a lumber run, and building a 9′x13′ platform (Actually, it’s completing off stage right). So I’ll get some exercise in with that. I’ll let you guys know how it goes.
Now the Fun Stuff!!
I work with really awesome people, some of the greatest people I’ll ever know. Somehow, word has been getting out that I’m on this diet. (Probably because I’ve been skipping lunch and work with my wife)
In any event, my friends at work (6 – counting my wife) decided to go on this diet with me. I can’t tell you how excited I am about that. Having my friends around every day will be great motivation. Each have committed to 10 days. We’ll probably write it on a board, and make it a competition to see who the first one to drop. This group is competitive, so bet it’ll get interesting.
For my Friends – A recap on the instructions
You’re grocery list
- Spring Water – Lot’s of it. I buy the 2.5 gallon jugs, and usually 2 at a time.
- Fresh Lemons (Or limes) – I started with the smaller ones, but they didn’t seem to last as long as the larger one. Also recently I’ve been adding in 6 limes to every 30+ lemons I squeeze. That’s added an awesome variety to the same ole same ole.
- Salt (For the flush) – I use the Mediterranean Sea Salt, but that’s just what I had on hand. Any sea-salt will do. I think you can use non-iodized salt too. (Research before you try)
- Grade B Maple Syrup – Make sure it’s Grade B, which is a early harvested syrup full of vitamins, and minerals. Skip on this and you’ll be unnourished. And you’ll fail. (That’s speaking from experience)
- Tea that has Senna in it. (The stuff in Ex-Lax) I’ve seen many brands, and they all seem to work. Look in the laxative section or heath section of your grocery store. Just make sure it has senna in it.
- Cayenne Pepper
How to make the lemonade
For 1 80z glass
- 2 Tablespoons Fresh squeezed Lemon Juice
- 2 Tablespoons Grade B Maple Syrup (Use 1 Tablespoon for quicker weight loss. Book says it’s okay) This is hard to find by the way. I’ve found it consistently at Publix. And at health and whole foods stores. I’ve even found it at the newer fancy Kroger, which you dispense on your own into containers for about $10 a pound.
- 80z Spring Water
- 1/10 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
By the Gallon
- 12oz Lemon Juice
- 8.5oz Grade B Maple Syrup. (Remember I use half the recommended. If you’re not overweight, then do 12oz. Or adjust for taste.)
- 96oz Spring Water
- 1 teaspoon Cayenne
To make like easier I took an empty 1 gallon jug (I.e. Milos Tea, or clear milk jug), I poured in 12oz of lemon, marked it with a Permanent Marker (A line, with lemon written next to it). Poured in 96oz of Spring Water, drew a line and labeled water. Then pour in the Syrup, and label it in the same manner.
Then I took a smaller, 1/2 jug and juiced lemons until I filled it. About 4-5 bags of lemons.
Now when I wake up, I can pour the lemon juice (Juice previously) to the lemon line, the water to the water line, and the syrup to the syrup line. Add a teaspoon of Cayenne, shake and I’m ready for the day. (About 3 minutes)
The Daily Routine
Loosen the stool
At night, drink 1 mug of the senna tea. (If you use a strong bag, you’ll get cramps in the early mornings. So you may need to experiment with that to get the right tea, or figure out how to dilute it.) Plan to get up a little early.
Get it going – The Flush
When you wake up, heat 4 cups of water (Doesn’t have to be spring water as it won’t be in you for long. I use filter water from the fridge). Don’t make it hot, but rather warmer than luke warm. You want to be able to drink this fast. But you don’t want it to be too cold either. I usually pour the water into a 4cup measuring cup. Then microwave it for 3-4 minutes.
Dissolve 2 TEASPOONS of sea-salt in the water. No more or less. This will give the water the consistency, and properties of blood. So it doesn’t get processed like regular liquids, and heads straight South on a journey out the other end.
Between 5-40 minutes, you’ll get the urge to wanna go bad. To quote sites, hold it a little while until you’re really ready to go. (I’d plan to get up an hour early until you get this down) Last thing you want is to be driving to work, and discover you were not quite through with the full 4 cups.
Then you drink 6-12 cups of the lemonade throughout the day. And however much water you want. Drink anytime you’re hungry, and it’ll pass. Then repeat day after day.
This will get you guys started. I’ll give more details going forward now that I know there’s interest.
