Wincel Diet
by ken.wincel on Apr.05, 2010, under Health, Wincel Diet
This weekend I will begin a new blog thread to document a custom diet I’ve created. A lot of people at work, and outside work has asked me what I’m doing. I’ve lost 40 lbs so far in about 9 weeks. For now, here’s my progress chart;

I dropped the Lemonade Diet I think around day 16 or 17, after being sick. (Unrelated to the diet). I kept on a low-carb diet, and cut out Sodas. And continue to lose about 1-3 lbs. a day. I’m @ 199.2 at present. So total loss of 28lbs. And 6 pant sizes. Had to buy new clothes over the weekend, as nothing fit me anymore.
Day – 8

Not much to report today. Didn’t do the flush, and didn’t drink much lemonade. Caught a stomach bug from my daughter, and stayed in bed most of the day. Didn’t even bother weighing myself. Will report more tomorrow.
My friends are still hanging in there, and more are joining. This is totally awesome!!
Day – 7
by ken.wincel on Feb.21, 2010, under Health, The Lemonade Diet
Pretty much same as yesterday. Checked in with the other friends doing this. They are on day two (and 1 Day 3) and still toughing it out.
Bought a new Juicer today! Man it works like a champ!
Day 6
by ken.wincel on Feb.20, 2010, under Health, The Lemonade Diet
I did the flush this morning, and glad I did. Thought I was empty (Or so it seemed the last few days), but apparently I was not. I swear this is the best detox diet ever. Also was not hungry at all today, and I’ve been working all morning at the stage.
Weighed in @ 213lbs a few minutes ago. I think I’m starting to plateau. But we’ll see.
Day – 3
by ken.wincel on Feb.17, 2010, under Health, The Lemonade Diet
6AM: Woke, nothing eventful. Drank the salt-water flush, which is really nasty.
7-5PM: Pretty uneventful. Flush didn’t seem to work. Headaches are completely gone, and I wasn’t very hungry today. By the way, I felt like I was twice as productive today than most days. I was able to do twice the work (Which is you know me, I keep a pretty heavy workload) But yet I met all my deliverables, and follow-ups, and attended half a day of meetings. I swear, toxins play a big role in health as well as backup.
7PM: Feeling pretty good. I only 2.2lbs since yesterday, so I’m down to 219.2. So roughly 8lbs so far. So I’m motivated to stick with this. Wonder if I’ll make it to 20 days.
Day – 2
by ken.wincel on Feb.16, 2010, under Health, The Lemonade Diet
7AM: Did not use the tea, as I didn’t want to drink too late. But did the flush. Still have the headache. Weighed in at 221, which is 6 lbs. lighter than Sunday night when I decided to start this diet.
10PM: Most of the day was pretty hard. I had Headaches, was tired and spacey. Hard to focus. I cheated a little. I “had” lunch w\ Consultants, where I watched them eat Mexican food while I drank the lemonade mixture. Then I sat and watched my family eat dinner at Cracker Barrell. Later when we were at home watching “The Hangover”, my wife kept snacking on Doritos, and Puff Corn. It got to be too much, so I got up and ate some cheese & crackers. Grrrr. So a little slip, but I’m not giving up.
10:30PM: Drinking the Senna tea, and going to bed soon.
DAY – 1
by ken.wincel on Feb.15, 2010, under The Lemonade Diet
11:20AM – This morning I woke and drank the salt water drink, and after 30 minutes I had the results I expected. As of 11AM, I’m not very hungry. I’m beginning to drink the lemonade, which typically I would had started much earlier, but I just wanted very hungry.
9PM – Not too eventful. Wasn’t hungry through out the day. However, I do have a killer headache. Likely caffeine withdrawls.
Preparing for Day 1

I didn’t eat anything after midnight. I weighed in and recorded my weight at 227 lbs. (I’m 5′9″, so that should give you some indication of how overweight I am. I’d like to be around 186)
I drank 1 mug of my Senna Tea, around midnight. I’m not getting much sleep tonight, as you might tell from the time I’m writing this. (It’s freezing, and snowing outside which is unusual for this state.)
I squeezed 12oz of lemons. Which I mixed with 8.5 oz of Grade B Maple Syrup. (This would typically be 12oz of Syrup, but because I’m way overweight, I decided to use much less. I may change this as the diet progresses. The books I’ve read stated it’s fine to use less if you’re overweight.)
I then mixed this with 96oz of water, and 1.5 teaspoons of cayenne pepper. I’ve got my sea-salt ready for a flush when I wake up.
The Master Cleanser
by ken.wincel on Feb.15, 2010, under The Lemonade Diet
In High School, I used to work out a lot. I was in shape, and a straight A student. I wasn’t the healthiest eater, but my metabolism balanced things out. To top things off, I was involved in every after school activity known to students; Chess Club, Social Study Club, Speech Club, Brain Game Club, Latin Club, Stage Crew, you name it.
At night, I’d stay up until about 2AM, and I’d get up around 5AM. Life was great.
As you get older, things catch up with you fast. I still eat bad, I’m severely overweight, I sleep 8 hours every night and I’m always tired. I’m on a CPAP, which I never use, and my asthma acts up all the time.
After weighing in at 227, I’ve decided to detox my body and get my metabolism back in order. Several years ago, a colleague I’ve worked with for several year with stopped by. Work keeps us busy, so I hadn’t seen him for about a month. He’s a tall guy, who like me was getting a belly. However, when he stopped by he was totally slimmed down. I had asked him about what diet he was on, and he mentioned it was “The Lemonade Diet” A diet comprised of drinking a special lemonade drink for 10-40 days.
Curious I bought a lot of books, and did a lot of research. I gave it a try, but out of pressure of being around food a lot I gave up. However, while on the diet I began to feel like I did in High School. I slept a lot better, could think clearer, and was dropping a lot of weight quick.
Needless to say, after seeing I’m at 227 the first thing that came to mind was getting back on the lemonade diet. I’m goal it to detox no less than 20 days on this diet. I’ll go longer if I can, but will make it to 20 days. Since I blog, I decided to keep a daily journal of this for anyone interested in trying this diet themselves. Once I come off the diet, I will have figured out a healthy regimen. Which will probably be cutting out soda drinks, while watching fat intake. We’ll get to that as I get closer to my 20 day goal.
So what’s the Master Cleanse Diet? It’s a program started by Stanley Burroughs. In a nutshell it looks like this?
You drink 6-12 8oz glassed of Lemonade which is made like this’
- 2 tablespoons of Fresh Lemonade Juice. (Apx 1oz.)
- 2 tablespoons of Grade B Maple Syrup (Don’t use any other type of syrup or sweetener, as it won’t contain the vitamins and minerals you need. more on that later)
- 8oz of spring water (Again, don’t skip on the type of water, or you’ll be missing the minerals you need)
- 1/10 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (Used to boost your metabolism, while breaking up the toxins in your body.)
At night and morning drink a tea that contains senna. You can also optionally choose to do a sea-salt water flush. (Remember, you won’t be eating so your body is going to need help to pass what you do have.)
The salt-water flush is made like this;
- 2 level teaspoons of sea-salt
- 1 quart of warm water
This stuff is nasty btw, and hard to get down quick. It’s like a flavourless broth. Most times I try to down it, I gag. But I highly recommend it for flushing your body each morning. You will get much better results in a quicker time.
That’s the basics. We’ll cover more as we go along.
